Born in Groningen, now living in Amsterdam, I’m Carlijn — a creative explorer, photographer, videographer and art director. Since founding BYCARLIJN.JPG in 2020, I’ve been capturing fashion and lifestyle moments that go beyond just aesthetics. My journey with visual content began when I was that curious kid, documenting friends and family on my parent’s old camera. Fast forward to today: photography and creative direction became my language. I’ve spent years perfecting the craft of creating outstanding aesthetics with a raw, urban edge.

 

I’m all about helping others express their true selves through visuals. My work is rooted in originality, blending modern culture and timeless aesthetics. I’m not afraid to push boundaries. Digital is moving fast, and I believe that to stay ahead of the culture, it's about think big and create bigger.

 

But beyond the lens, there’s more. In my free time, you’ll often catch me with a matcha latte lost in moodboards, scrolling through Pinterest or magazines. Concept building is pretty much my playground. I thrive on building stories from the ground up, dreaming up a campaign or designing a creative direction for a shoot. Because content makes conversation.

 

Besides my love for the city life, I am someone who craves the serenity of nature, often seeking moments of mindfulness and personal growth. When I'm not behind the camera, you’ll likely find me lost in a book or deep in thought on a nature walk. Oh, and did I mention I love solo travel? There’s something about the world’s diversity that fuels my perspective as a creator. Exploring different cultures gives me new perspectives and keeps my work innovative and culturally attuned. I’m so grateful that I’ve been able to combine my love for travel with my work. It’s giving the perfect blend of passion and profession.
